About
I study kinetic plasma processes in space and astrophysical plasmas, focusing on magnetic reconnection, turbulence, plasma instabilities, and anisotropy-driven dynamics. My work combines analytical theory with large-scale numerical simulations, and is conducted in part within the Simons Collaboration on Extreme Electrodynamics of Compact Sources.
Research themes:
- Collisionless reconnection and current-sheet stability
- Plasmoid instability in relativistic and non-relativistic regimes
- Turbulence-driven reconnection and plasma heating
- Kinetic instabilities and pressure anisotropy
- Reduced plasma descriptions and multi-scale dynamics
Methods:
- Linear theory and reduced kinetic models
- Spectral codes: Gyrofluid, gyrokinetic, and hybrid-Vlasov (non relativistic)
- Particle-in-cell simulations (relativistic)
